Strengthen internal controls with fraud detection features like Same Day, Next Day, Teller and Payee Positive Pay and Payment Protection.

Main Fraud Services
The following services can be accessed by selecting the Payables section in KeyNavigator, and clicking on Fraud Services: Same Day Positive Pay, Next Day Positive Pay, and Payment Protection. You can set a disposition default at the account level that can be applied to exceptions if no action is taken: Pay All or Stop / Return All. Exception items are 'scrubbed' by KeyBank in order to present to you only those items that could be fraudulent.

Same Day Positive Pay Detail
Select a CDA account from the Select Account dropdown to display the exception items for review.

Stopping a check before it has posted to your account is as easy as selecting the checkbox for the item(s) and selecting the next button.

Select the 'camera' icon to view check details. You can view the front and back of checks.

Payee name verification provides an added level of protection by comparing the name provided in the issue file to the name on the presented check, thus combating check alteration fraud. Teller positive pay provides protection for checks presented over the counter at KeyBank branches. This is is oftentimes not the case with other banks' positive pay.

E-checks, or checks inadvertently converted to ACH, are presented through positive pay for your review and approval or return. You can make decisions on KeyNavigator or through the KeyNavigator Mobile site.

Secondary Authorization Detail
Secondary authorization is typically used in conjunction with the positive pay default, Stop All. If an exception item is subsequently marked as paid, a second user needs to authorize it.

Authorizing an exception item to be paid, that another user has marked to pay, is as easy as selecting the checkbox for the item(s) and selecting the next button.

Select the 'camera' icon to view check details. You can view the front and the back of checks. This eliminates the possibility of a single person paying a fraudulent check, thus combating internal check fraud.

Payment Protection Detail
The Payment Protection Report allows you to view all checks that paid yesterday to compare them to your system of record, making decisions to return them if they are indeed fraudulent.
