Founded by Jae’ Wiley, this unique space transcends the traditional beauty experience, offering a vibrant atmosphere where people come together to create custom lipstick and simply be themselves. “Lipstick, to me, is universal. All women — I don’t care where they’re from, what race, what religion — they all speak lipstick. They all speak makeup.” For Jae’, Lipstyck Lab is more than a business. It’s a place for beauty, connection, and confidence.
Opportunity
Through KeyHive, Jae’ was invited to be a vendor at the Pittsburgh market Key4Women Forum in 2022.
Due to her unique value prop and business model, along with her engaging personality, she connected with the Key4Women team in Cleveland and was invited to participate as a vendor in the Key4Women Lounge at the Women of Color Foundation Conference.
The Key4Women team was unaware, however, that Jae’ was struggling with the challenges of being a working mom, the loss of her parents, and not gaining the connections and traction she needed for her business to be successful. She was contemplating winding her home-based business down.
