Elizabeth R. Gile
Elizabeth R. Gile was a managing director and global head of the Loan Exposure Management Group at Deutsche Bank AG until her retirement in 2005. She was hired to create a new business division to manage the bank’s $80 billion wholesale loan portfolio using capital market instruments and derivatives to reduce the volatility of financial results, while enabling the bank to remain a major lender to valued clients. This was a major strategic initiative for the firm. Her team was recognized by Risk Magazine in 2005, which awarded Deutsche Bank “Credit Portfolio Team of the Year” honors.
From 2007 through 2009, Ms. Gile was a managing director and senior strategic advisor to BlueMountain Capital Management, a hedge fund management company.
Ms. Gile spent the first 24 years of her career at J.P. Morgan, where she worked in virtually every aspect of credit origination and risk management. At varying points in J.P. Morgan’s North American business, she was responsible for High Grade Credit Markets trading, Credit Portfolio Management, Corporate Lending and Credit Research. Before moving to Deutsche, she was a Vice Chair of Toronto Dominion Securities.
Ms. Gile is currently on the Boards of Deutsche Bank Trust Company of the Americas and is Chair of the Risk Committee, Watford Re Ltd and is Chair of the Investment Committee, and various funds managed by BlueMountain Capital.
Ms. Gile holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Government and History, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, with Highest Distinction. She is a Trustee of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where she is on the Executive Committee and serves as Secretary.
