Chris Whitley
Cain Brothers Experience
Chris Whitley is a Director focused on public finance transactions for acute-care hospitals and health systems. Chris joined Cain Brothers in 2022 and has over 7 years of experience advising not-for-profit healthcare providers in a variety of capital raising transactions. Chris has served as lead manager on over $9 billion of tax-exempt and taxable bond issues for a diverse mix of providers including national health systems, regional health systems, academic medical centers, independent children’s hospitals, and community hospitals.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Chris was a Vice President in BofA Securities’ Healthcare Group, where he focused on capital raising for major healthcare providers. Prior to BofA, Chris served in the United States Navy for 7 years as both a nuclear submarine officer aboard the ballistic missile submarine USS ALABAMA (SSBN-731), and as Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Memphis where he taught three university courses and advised students in the Naval ROTC program.
Education
Chris earned a BS from the United States Naval Academy, an MBA from the University of Memphis and a Naval Nuclear Engineer Certification from Naval Reactors/D.O.E. Chris serves on the advisory boards of Apollo Pact and the Navy Nuclear Power Officer Career Conference.
