David Cohen
David Cohen is a member of Cain Brothers’ Health Systems practice, focusing on M&A and partnership transactions involving hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers and related businesses. David joined Cain Brothers in 2023 with 24 years of experience as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and board members. Prior to joining Cain Brothers, David was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, and prior to that he was a Managing Director at Kaufman Hall.
Prior Experience
His transaction experience includes the acquisitions of over 20 hospitals from Community Health Systems by not-for-profit health systems such as AdventHealth, MUSC, Spartanburg Regional and West Tennessee Health, the sale of hospitals owned by Prospect Medical and MPT to Yale New Haven Health, the merger of Virtua and Lourdes, the acquisition of a joint venture from Tenet by John Muir Health, an acquisition of a hospital from HCA, a sale of a Medicare Advantage health plan to UnitedHealth, the sale of Bode Technology to LabCorp, and the sale of a virtual behavioral health provider Bayless Healthcare to Magellan/Centene.
Education
David earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
