Joanna Stephenson is a Director focused on public finance transactions for hospital and post-acute care providers. She joined Cain Brothers in 1998 and has over 23 years of experience. Joanna also advises on the structuring and implementation of interest rate management products and solution-oriented reinvestment vehicles, including interest rate swaps, options, caps and collars, basis swaps, and escrow options. Her notable transactions include Prime Healthcare Service’s $700 million senior secured notes offering, Palomar Health’s $28.7 million certificates of participation, the $267 million inaugural bond issue for Prime Healthcare Foundation, execution of a $500 million fixed pay swap for a tax-exempt health care organization, participation in the structuring of the first ever synthetic refinancing using a Total Return Swap, placement of a $295 million repurchase agreement for the Oklahoma University of Medicine’s bond proceeds investment, and lead designer and manager of Cain Brothers’ online interest rate derivative monitoring system, CBFiRM.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Joanna was an integral team member in the Special Products Group at Ziegler Securities.
Education
Joanna earned a BS in Finance from Butler University.
