Nicholas Stuart
Nicholas Stuart delivers strategic advice to upstream oil & gas clients. He has executed nearly 100 advisory and capital markets transactions principally to high-growth upstream companies. He has advised the senior executives, Board of Directors and owners of both public and private companies in matters ranging from traditional corporate finance and capital planning, strategic capital formation for acquisitions and rescue financing for distressed situations. Prior to joining KeyBanc Capital Markets in June of 2012, Mr. Stuart was a Vice President in the Energy Investment Banking Group for Stifel Nicolaus for six years. Mr. Stuart began his career with KPMG LLP’s audit practice in Washington, DC, where he covered a variety of sectors, including natural resources, for four years.
Mr. Stuart earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business. As a component of his graduate studies, he attended the China-European International Business School in Shanghai, China and briefly worked in the China studies group of DaimlerChrysler. He is a Certified Public Accountant (not in public practice), holds the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses and is an Eagle Scout. In addition to his professional career, he is President of the Houston Energy Finance Group and is a top 1% fundraiser for the BP MS 150 charitable cycling event.
