Scott Peterson
Scott Peterson is a Managing Director in KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Technology Investment Banking Group and is responsible for helping lead the firm’s software practice. Prior to joining Key, Scott spent 4+ years at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, now Truist Securities, building out its software investment banking franchise.
Scott brings more than 20 years of software-focused investment banking experience and has led significant advisory and capital markets transactions for hundreds of public, founder-led, and private equity-backed companies. Scott started his career at Credit Suisse First Boston and spent time in New York and London. He then worked as a strategy consultant for Mars & Co, executing strategic projects for a wide range of clients including Aérospatiale, General Motors, Microsoft, Nestlé, Viacom, and Xerox. In 2005, Scott joined JP Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking team and, over more than a decade at the firm, helped lead debt, equity, and M&A transactions for clients such as Anaplan, Blackboard, Blackbaud, CentralSquare, Citrix, Ellucian, Infor, JDA, Kronos, Newforma, NetSuite, Paylocity, Q2, Red Hat, and Splunk.
Scott has been based in the Bay Area for the past 20+ years and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Master of Engineering degree from Cornell University and MBA degrees from Columbia University, and the University of California, Berkeley.
