For 200 years and counting, KeyBank has had one purpose— helping our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive.
Watch the videos below to see our purpose in action.
Since 1825, KeyBank has had one purpose — helping our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive.
Because we believe opening a door for one neighbor will open countless others.
For 200 years that's been our north star. It's who we are, who we've always been; a bank committed to making a different kind of change.
Every day, we help our clients in ways large and small: cashing a check, starting a savings account, buying a home, saving for retirement, starting a business, growing a business.
We meet them in the moments that matter most, in the moments they need us the most...
Like when a crisis stops the world in its tracks.
As COVID-19 swept across the globe, businesses faced an uncertain future.
KeyBank acted quickly to become one of our nation's largest loan funders for the Paycheck Protection Program.
Key provided more than $11 billion in assistance to help keep 69,000 businesses open, ensuring their employees could keep their jobs during a difficult time.
"KeyBank and I have teamed up and we're gonna be donating $10,000 to the Colorado Covid Relief Fund."
This type of support for businesses isn't new to Key, it's been there from the start.
In 1929, America entered the Great Depression and banks closed across America, but not Key.
Our resilience kept our doors open when our neighbors needed us most, and we remained focused on solutions — creating intermediate term loans, a new way of lending to help secure the futures of local businesses.
Our support for them is more than a priority, it's why we're here. And as we support businesses large and small, we support the people behind them.
And that includes our colleagues; offering opportunities to grow and thrive in their careers is just the beginning. We are committed to the health and wellbeing of everyone.
"Hi, welcome to Key."
KeyBank doesn't just offer opportunity, KeyBank is opportunity.
The opportunity to do work that matters in a place with a strong sense of community, a place that helps drive you while unlocking the potential within you.
Our dedication to them has been there from the start.
All the way back in 1963 when a young woman named Barb Check joined KeyBank as a teller, Barb quickly realized working at Key was more than a job.
It was an opportunity to make banking more approachable.
That's what kept Barb around for six decades, retiring with KeyBank's first ever 60th anniversary pin, a milestone that shows her outstanding dedication and how Key's culture creates lasting relationships.
"They become friends. They're not, they're not clients anymore. A lot of 'em become friends."
Investing in people goes well beyond the walls of our bank.
We are committed to opening doors across our entire community, because we know that we are only as strong as the communities we serve. And the best way to make a difference is by working together.
Like Key's "Neighbors Make the Difference Day". What started as a local initiative in Alaska in 1991 has grown to become KeyBank's annual day of volunteering in every community we serve.
Thousands of employees come together every year to contribute more than half a million hours of service.
"At the bank we manage to keep busy, but this kind of gives us a chance to give back to the community."
From providing financial advice to planting trees, this effort has touched countless lives.
KeyBank has been woven into the fabric of our communities from the start.
Just like in 1925, when KeyBank collaborated with Cleveland Public Schools to create a savings program to help improve children's financial literacy.
Through the Society for Savings school program, thousands of children in local communities learn the value of saving money and managing their finances.
From past to present, we've shown our communities we are dedicated to building a world where everyone can thrive without exception and that's worth celebrating.
But this is no ordinary celebration.
It's a celebration that's centuries in the making and still going strong because even though our history goes back 200 years, our commitment to our clients, our colleagues, and our communities hasn't aged a day.
It's been there from the start, and it continues today, every day, and in every way.
KeyBank opens doors.
Here's to two centuries of service... and counting.
