Building strong communities begins with connection and understanding. We are committed to understanding the critical issues facing our communities. By collaborating with organizations that are also deeply committed to community, we open doors and increase our impact.
Building Hope in Clark-Fulton
Cleveland, OH
In Clark-Fulton, we do know that that's where a lot of the refugees come and settle. And so there's just not enough resources.
We wanna be those folks who can respond to the housing crisis. And KeyBank is allowing Building Hope to be a bridge to impact the community directly.
And our goal there really is to help immigrants and refugees of all kind move from a a period of uncertainty and just surviving to thriving here in Cleveland.
Farmers Market
Serving east Buffalo, NY
The east side of Buffalo.
One of the things that has been a great challenge within this community is food insecurity. There should be more access to fresh produce.
There was a massacre at the only supermarket in our community. It forced people to look for other places that they could go for fresh produce.
And that supermarket supported this entire community of several hundred thousand people, and it just, it shined a light on the lack of access to food.
Other than these little corner stores, there's, there's nothing in this neighborhood.
So if you're stressing about finances or where you're gonna get your next meal, all of that stuff is going to be detrimental to your health.
The farmer's market tries to solve for that. Through our partnership with Alison Dohoney, who runs the Buffalo Go Green, we're able to bring fresh produce to the community.
Brussels sprouts, herbs, green peppers, zucchini. . . . Not only are we bringing this market, but thanks to KeyBank, we're able to give every single patron a voucher.
It's helping the children and the adult citizens, allowing them to get nutritious meals.
It is good to have fresh vegetables available in the neighborhood.
It's so great to have this here in the neighborhood.
To say, "Hey, we are going to invest in this neighborhood and we are invested in this neighborhood," says a lot about KeyBank and what they're looking to do.
They recognize the importance of being able to provide something as fundamental as having access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
It's an amazing thing, but it's just a small start. There's so much more to do and I think if we just do our part and encourage other private businesses to do their part, we'll just continue to see progress there.
Meeting the community where it is and making sure that people are thriving.
