Joanne M. Smallwood

With more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry, Joanne Smallwood is a strategic leader who develops and executes innovative solutions to grow assets, enhance client experience, and improve operational efficiency. As the National Director of Associate Strategy & Field Implementation at Key Private Bank, she leads and manages a team of 140+ associates across three regions and 24 market offices, supporting the Private Bank sales teams and driving critical organizational change. Joanne is passionate about creating strategy and programs to support the growth of the business, by fostering a culture of accountability and empowering her team to deliver exceptional results.

In her previous role as VP, Director of Strategy Implementation, and Chief of Staff to the COO of Wealth Management at KeyBank, Joanne was responsible for providing key input and insights into the analysis of strategic opportunities and organizational challenges, creating and maintaining project plans, and editing the Key Wealth Institute publications. Joanne leveraged her skills in program and project management, process improvement, and communications and content management to create and execute a marketing and communications strategy for the Wealth team, manage large-scale change initiatives, and generate proven results.
