Key Capture® Overview
With Key Capture®, our desktop remote deposit solution, you can easily deposit checks without visiting a branch. After scanning your checks, images are encrypted and transmitted to Key to be processed and funds posted to your account.
Getting Started
The Key Capture® main page is divided into four segments: Make a Deposit, Deposit History, Bulletin Board, and Deposit Reports.
Make A Deposit
With Key Capture®, our desktop remote deposit solution, you can easily deposit checks without visiting a branch. After scanning your checks, images are encrypted and transmitted to Key to be processed and funds posted to your account.
Begin the Deposit
Select the account to which the deposit will be made. Type the expected deposit amount with a decimal point (e.g., 1000.00 = $1,000.00) in the box and select the Start Deposit button
Scan Checks
Place the checks in the front feeder tray of the scanner. After selecting Continue, the application will begin communication with the scanner, starting the scanning process.

A notification will be provided when scanning is complete. Select the Submit Deposit button.

After submitting the deposit, a confirmation window will appear with basic information regarding the deposit. You can choose to go back and edit the deposit, or submit it for processing.

After submitting the deposit, the deposit receipt will display. You can choose to print the receipt, or can go back to the main page by selecting the OK button.

Upon selecting Submit Deposit, the main page will be displayed. A new section will display on the main page, titled Notifications. When opened, it will display the items submitted by that user which require additional review.
Balance Deposit
The transaction is in balance when the total amount of the checks scanned equals the amount of the expected deposit total. If a deposit is out-of-balance, an alert will be displayed in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

In an out-of-balance situation, after selecting Submit Deposit, an Out of Balance screen will appear. You may either select Edit Deposit or Update Total, then proceed.
Deposit Review
Key Capture® makes it easy to ensure your deposits are in order prior to submitting them to Key.
Deposit History
Previous deposits are available for review and research. Select a deposit to review. Deposit history is retained for 90 days, and deposit history can be sorted by date, amount, account or location by selecting the headings.
Reviewer Perspective
A Reviewer can see all items that are pending review and take the appropriate action. To review a specific item, click the item and select Open for Review.
Smart Fields
Smart fields are an optional feature that when enabled allow you to enter specific details pertinent to your payors or remittance information. These fields are configured when you initially establish your service.
Smart Fields
Smart field data will automatically be recalled when a check is presented from the same account / routing number combination. The information contained in these fields is editable for each deposit. All other steps in the deposit process are the same.
Reports
Access reports and accounts that have been assigned to you. You can tailor the report content then print or export the report.
View Reports
Click the report name you wish to access. A page will display allowing you to view the selected report. You can tailor the report content by selecting the specific criteria and clicking View Report. From there you can print or export the report.
Daily Deposit Detail Extract
The Daily Deposit Detail Extract provides the details for deposits made on the selected business day. Select the Business Date and Account Number, then select View Report. From here you can also print or export the report.

The Daily Deposit Detail Report provides the images for deposits made on the selected business day. Choose the business date and account number, then select View Report. From here you can also print or export the report.
Daily Payment Extract
This report is for Smart Field users only. Select a date range then select View Report. From here you can also print or export the report.
Deposit Summary
The Deposit Summary Report provides a summary of all deposits made at all sites and accounts for which the user has authority. Select a date range then select View Report. From here you can also print or export the report.
Item & Payment Search
The Item Search provides deposit details and image information for items. To search items, populate the two required fields (From Date and To Date), other fields are optional fields. You can also print or export the report.
Item & Payment Search
Payment Search enables you to search a specific payment on a specific date. You can expand the report to view images associated with the payment for Smart Field accounts. Select a date range, complete the required fields and then select View Report.
