What to Bring with You to Open an Account in a Branch

Whether you're opening a bank account for yourself or a joint account with another person, you'll need to provide personal information about the account owner or owners including:

  • One valid form of primary identification, like a driver's license, valid passport, or government-issued ID with photo and signature.
  • If applicable, a check or cash for the minimum opening deposit amount or more.
  • If your address is different from the address on your ID, you'll also need proof of address, such as a utility bill.
